In Summer 2007, join us at Oregon State University for an intensive week of stimulating presentations, discussions, mentoring, and fun with writing center colleagues from around the world. The institute will provide a mentoring network of professional contacts, including both new directors and a range of veteran writing center professionals. The eight leaders are drawn from both large and small colleges and universities, community colleges, and secondary schools, with specialties that range from technology in the writing center to peer tutoring and writing across the curriculum.
The Institute, now in its fifth year, is sanctioned by the International Writing Centers Association and is supported by participant fees, grants from our friends in publishing, and contributions from the host group, the Oregon State University Center for Writing and Learning. Across the week there will be plenary sessions, panel presentations, round-table discussions, and workshops as well as social events. Registration is limited to 45 participants, which allows time for small-group conversations and private consultations.
