The Writing Center is a relaxed, friendly place where you can get responses from other writers to any kind of writing. Writing assistants can help with such things as writer's block, preparing for class presentations, and organizing, developing, and revising your own papers. They can provide special assistance with particular writing issues or just be the kind of skilled reader who can help you improve your work. In addition to face to face sessions, the Writing Center offers two on-line services: WritingQ, a grammar hotline for brief questions of mechanics and citation; and the Online Writing Lab, a service for submitting papers over the internet. Best of all, every service offered by the Center is free.
To make a half-hour or hour long individual appointment with a writing assistant, stop by the Writing Center (open Monday-Friday 9-4) in Waldo 123 or call (541) 737-5640. You can also sign yourself up for evening appointments at the Valley Library's Writing Desk in the Collaborative Learning Center. If you must cancel your appointment at either location, don't forget to call or stop by ahead of time to let us know.
