The Writing Center is a relaxed and friendly place where you can work with writing assistants, fellow students who will give you concrete feedback and advice on how to improve your writing. Writing assistants are skilled readers and writers who can help you work on a project by assisting you with revising, brainstorming, and /or writer’s block. Writing assistants can also answer specific questions about grammar, citing sources, and format. They can provide special assistance with particular writing issues or just be the kind of skilled reader who can help you improve your work.
In addition to face-to-face sessions, the Writing Center offers an Online Writing Lab, a service for submitting papers over the Internet. All of the Writing Center services are free.
To make a half-hour or hour-long individual appointment with a writing assistant, stop by the Writing Center (open Monday-Friday: 9-4) in Waldo 123 or call (541) 737-5640.
You can also make evening or Sunday appointments at the Valley Library Writing Desk in the Collaborative Learning Center. To make an appointment use our web form (requires ONID login). If you must cancel your appointment at either location, don't forget to call or stop by ahead of time to let us know.
